It has been a great privilege to share the Just Being EQ course with so many amazing people. I thought I would share the supportive feedback I’ve received from the students who completed the training. What has been incredible for me is what I have learnt while teaching. I think the biggest impact that the Just Being course has had on my professional life is improving my relationship with other teams. It can often get quite tense between, for example, Engineering and Channel teams because of different priorities or miscommunications. The mindful listening exercise and empathy meditation have made it easier to step back from the emotion, realise that the other party is very stressed and has a different perspective of the issue, and to ultimately resolve the conflict in an efficient and productive manner.

I’m naturally very anxious and self-critical and as a result I often find myself stuck in this internal negative feedback loop. It’s sub-conscious, and it’s extremely counterproductive. The course helped me to start becoming aware of this state, pause/take a deep breath/walk around the room/meditate for 5-minutes and break the loop which has done wonders for my productivity and my state of mind.
